Hemel Hempstead, January 2015 - Carestream has signed a seven year deal with Homerton University NHS Foundation Trust for the supply of PACS services.
One of the first NHS Foundation Trusts, Homerton is based in the east London Borough of Hackney, two miles from the site of the 2012 London Olympics. The hospital has over 450 inpatient beds and provides hospital and community services to the people of Hackney, the City of London and beyond. Top of Form
The hospital has a history of early adoption of Carestream technology, being one of the first UK Trusts to install Carestream DRX-1 technology both for the hospital and for the former Polyclinic at the Olympic Park.
With a PACS provided by British Telecom (BT) under the terms of the NHS Connecting for Health Programme, the Trust recently tendered for replacement of their existing PACS services via the NHS Supply Chain. After an extensive evaluation process the Trust awarded preferred bidder status to Carestream and subsequently signed a seven year contract with the company, with the option to extend for a further two years. The CARESTREAM PACS will be provided as a Managed Service, including software, services and hardware and will be integrated within the hospital’s existing RIS system.
